In House Test Report - Truck Cab Manufacturers, Inc.

Objective

Find a product that outperforms the 9” VSM resin fiber disc and the 80 and 120 grit Quick-Loks that are currently being used.

 

Summary

ARC tested a 3” 80 grit Predator Quick-Lok on the galvannealed steel and 3” 80 grit Predator with 3X Performance coating on aluminum against the current 3” 80 grit R203 Quick-Change disc and 120 grit A/O Quick-Change disc. 

Quick-Lok testing showed that Predator outperformed both products on both Aluminum and galvannealed mild steel.

The 9” VSM RFD was cut down to a 7” disc and was tested against VZ133 and VA632 with 3X Performance Coating on Aluminum.

The VZ133 disc outperformed VSM by 64% and the VA632 outperformed VSM by 79%.

Results

Quick-Lok testing consisted of grinding on the edge of Aluminum and the flat of the galvannealed mild steel provided by Truck Cab Manufacturers, Inc.  Using a small pneumatic right angle grinder.
• The test was performed for 10 minutes for each metal, stopping every minute to weigh the metal.

The RFD test was performed off-hand using 7” angle grinder running at 6000 RPM. 
• The test was performed for 10 minutes on the edge of aluminum, with the metal weighed every minute and the disc before and after.

 

Conclusions

Based on results Predator, Predator with 3X Performance coating and VA632 RFD would give a faster and longer cut than the products currently being used at Truck Cab Manufacturers.
